Rocklyn Academy provides an empowering personal and academic opportunity for sensitive, intuitive, creative and intelligent adolescent girls who may also display behaviours such as defiance, dishonesty, manipulation, inappropriate expressions of anger, disrespect, verbal abuse, academic under-achievement, mild drug/alcohol/tobacco use, depression, cutting, anxiety and other challenging habits.  Often students at Rocklyn have diagnoses such as ADHD, ODD, OCD, mild depression, and mild learning differences. With appropriate and effective medications, Rocklyn has supported students with Bipolar Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome.

Rocklyn Academy is an emotional growth boarding high school dedicated to supporting young women during their adolescence and guiding them in efforts to re-integrate themselves into school and family life.

We concentrate on validating high levels of sensitivity, intuition and creativity and intelligence ― as gateways to help young women balance and positively ignite their special gifts to become extraordinary women.  By offering a paradigm that recognizes and celebrates these traits ― sensitivity, intuition, creativity and intelligence ― young women at our school are given the opportunity to empower and reposition themselves. Instead of feeling like outcasts, deficient, or “bad girls” they can develop compassionate appreciation when life is perceived as magical. This re-casting of life perception ― the understanding that sensitivity, intuition, creativity and intelligence can be fundamental elements in a new appreciation of life, may come as a relief.  When these traits are properly balanced with boundaries, reason, compassion and education, they can become the keys to true self-empowerment and can mark the turning point for young women to move into role models of the timeless leadership that the world currently needs.
